Hong Kong Health & Social Care Foundation Partners with Wilson’s Disease Association to Support Patients

The Hong Kong Wilson’s Disease Association has long been committed to providing information, emotional support, and a platform for patients and their families to connect, helping them face the challenges of this rare condition. The Association actively responds to the initiative of the International Wilson’s Disease Alliance by designating December 6 each year as “International Wilson’s Disease Day,” raising public awareness and strengthening patient solidarity. This year, International Wilson’s Disease Day fell on a Saturday, and the Association marked the occasion by hosting its annual Christmas party on that day. The event featured a potluck, lucky draw, a group photo to celebrate the international day, and an insightful sharing session by Assistant Professor (Clinical), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) Dr. Siu, creating a warm and supportive environment for patients and families.

The Hong Kong Health & Social Care Foundation was honored to participate by organizing a workshop to explore and design a 1-to-3-year action plan with members, aiming to help the Association develop more strategic services and advocacy.

Foundation co-founders Mr. John Wong expressed: “Meeting patients face-to-face and feeling their resilience and hope is the greatest motivation for us to drive collaboration.” Mr. Terry Lai added: “This event truly showcased the Association’s unity. Moving forward, we will work hand in hand to create more resources and comprehensive support for patients and their families.”
